James Clow
James M. Clow
James is originally from Regina and currently works from Saskatoon where he lives with his wife Patty and cat Scout. As an artist whose primary focus is nature based, he enjoys studying birds in their natural habitat. His work can be found throughout Canada, the USA, Europe and Asia including private, corporate and museum collections. He has taken part in group exhibitions including The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s prestigious internationally acclaimed Birds In Art (2018-2021). In 2021 his work was selected as part of a US two year touring exhibition. He also created a series of potash mining paintings where he incorporated actual potash into three dimensional art after experimenting with traditional and non-traditional mediums. His main love is oil painting with a focus on capturing the various textures. He holds a BFA from the University of Regina and a College Diploma from Sheridan College. James spent a number of years working in traditional hand drawn animation as has worked for DreamWorks and Walt Disney while living in London, England and Vancouver, Canada.
