Jim Mason
Jim Mason was born and lived most of his life in the Beatty/Melfort area of Saskatchewan. He is a self-taught woodcarver and artist who combines a wild imagination and sense of humor with creativity and artistic ability to create one of a kind pieces.
Each unique sculpture is a blend of wood, copper, and brass with other additions such as guitar strings and clock parts. His art is the product of a very active, creative mind, coupled with a set of self-taught skills developed as his life presented challenges and opportunities. Jim’s love of Steampunk and wildlife art has provided subject matter for many of the pieces he has created, combining the warmth of wood with the colder metal pieces to create a unique marriage of materials and aesthetics.
