Kim Atlin

Kim Atlin graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1988 having been awarded the prestigious Experimental Arts Faculty Association Award and recognized with other awards for her printmaking.

After graduation she gravitated towards painting as her primary means of artistic expression and has been the recipient of the Shiela Dick McKay arts grant (1997).

Kim dedicates her full time as an artist based in Toronto and has participated in numerous juried exhibitions throughout her career including Perspectives in Canada (2000)- a show of prestigious Canadian contemporary women painters.

The primary inspiration of Kim's work has always been nature and her environs. The pandemic has shifted her focus to her more immediate surroundings following the general paradigm shift towards staying close to home in the past couple of years. Creating bodies of work that in becoming more personal are perhaps more universal.

Kim's work has been represented by numerous private galleries. Her most recent solo shows have been in April 2022 in Edmonton with Bugera Matheson gallery, Dianna Witte gallery in Toronto 2019 and Bugera Matheson Gallery in Edmonton 2019. In 2020 Kim was chosen to mount the inaugural exhibit at the Georgian Bay Centre for the Arts new Vitrine gallery. She is presently developing work from her various interests derived from her allotment garden and hikes and walks throughout urban and wilderness environments.

Kim's work is collected nationally and internationally.
