Stacey Walyuchow

Inspired by experiences, memories, music and the many faces of women. My intention is to create stories and situations that break the passivity of the viewer by developing scenes that do not follow logical criteria. I want the viewer to feel a sense of wonder and a determination to figure out what each element represents.

My work aims to provide a glimpse into those hidden places in our minds where we store the things we have yet to work through, things we believe we should forget, and those we long to remember.

Art has always been Staceys quiet refuge—a place where the noise softens and meaning rises. Whether lost in its creation or held in its gaze, art offers her a language beyond words, a gentle kind of healing.

She is drawn to grey skies and muted tones, to the melancholy beauty of mood and memory. Her work lingers in the realm of the feminine—portraits and figures that whisper stories of emotion, resilience, and quiet strength.

Working in mixed media collage, Stacey weaves together fragments of acrylic paint and reimagined stock photography, softened and reshaped with oil pastels. Each piece is layered with care, yet she leaves room for the flaws—the tears, the uneven edges, the accidental marks. These, she believes, are where the soul lives. Imperfection is not something to hide, but something to honour. After all, who among us is perfect? And isnt that the most human thing?

To Stacey, art is not merely seen—its felt. It carries a story, invites connection, stirs emotion. Her hope is simple: that her work finds a place in your story, too.
