There is a version of ourselves that surfaces unexpectedly in spaces steeped in memory. For me, that is often the much younger child that I still need to work on forgiving, and also learning to remember the good and embrace those memories. Books have a way of bringing some of those beautiful moments to the surface for me. The story, the cover art and the smell of the pages. It’s funny how certain objects or places can unlock memories long tucked away.
The posture here is one of quiet recognition—a moment of pausing to acknowledge the younger self, still present and longing to be seen.
Sometimes opening the door to the things we keep contained is a good thing.
